How do you crochet hats?

I want to learn how to crochet hats , and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to make them. I want the hats to be “Beanie” like but loose that you can wear in a sort of rachel bilson style, and I want to know how to make them sort of tighter too, so if any of you crochet-ers out there can hook a sister up, please do!

Here is a site with instructions and some free patterns, you just have to register.

I have crocheted a beanie, how do I sew fabric on to it?

I have crocheted a beanie and would like to sew a tag on to it. Unfortunately, the needle and foot don't go up high enough to fit the beanie to be sewn (beanie is quite thick). Do I need a different sewing machine or different attachment?
I appreciate the advice, but in the case of a crocheted beanie, with all the gaps and whatnot, it would be difficult for me to make proper stiches, which is why I decided to go with a machine. Any other advice? Maybe it is just because I suck at sewing…

If you're sewing a label on, how about just hand sewing? You can get the stitches just where you want them and if the label is on the inside of the hat by handsewing you can make sure the thread doesn't show on the outside so you get a more professional look.

where do i find easy crochet patterns for a queen size bed?

I wwant to make a blanket for a queen size bed…But i am a beginner at crochet…any help?

Any size granny squares can be made into a blanket of any size. They are easy to make. The larger the finished pattern of the squares the fewer squares to put together. I like squares of about a foot across for bed sized blankets. Stitch squares together on the back with whip stitch in strips, then put the strips together.

Find some granny square patterns you like and do them. All of them are fairly easy and look great shaded or rainbow or however you want to do them.

http://www.crochet.about.com is a good place to start.

My first crochet hat.

I got the video on how to make a crochet beanie from Youtuber twj1963. Here is a link to her great How-To video:

I just bought some multi-colored yarn that I liked from Wal-Mart and I used an M sized crochet hook. (I tend to crochet very tight).

I was really happy with the way it turned out!
