crocheting booties that look like chuck taylors? White Sox crocheted hat?
My supervisor's wife is pregnant and what I'd really like to make is a pair of booties that look like chuck taylor converse hi-top sneakers, and a white sox hat. Any patterns available? I couldn't find one.

How do you crochet hats?
I want to learn how to crochet hats , and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to make them. I want the hats to be “Beanie” like but loose that you can wear in a sort of rachel bilson style, and I want to know how to make them sort of tighter too, so if any of you crochet-ers out there can hook a sister up, please do!
Here is a site with instructions and some free patterns, you just have to register.

Does anyone have any free patterns for crocheting toboggans and hats, or where I can find them?
almost every crochet pattern site has free hat patterns. … try lionbrand site, or seafore.com, or michael's.com, all of them have hats to crochet for free. have fun searching!!! ( in other words, you'll be awhile.)
where can I sell my handmade hats?
I make hand crochet hats but I dont know where other than ebay to sell it or even find people who'll buy it since I'm at home all the time. any ideas?
You might consider setting up your own website, if you plan on trying to sell them regularly. It can be a decent amount of work, but it would also let customers find your products more easily. I know it can be done, because one site that I myself buy from sounds very similar to what you might do:
fishfishknits.com
Anyone have any particularly cool patterns for crocheting hats??

Thank you!!

What would be a good name for a little business (single person) selling crochet hats?
I make crochet hats, both ear flap and beanie hats, and am selling them in a shop this upcoming winter. I need some brainstorming ideas for a name for my little business. something catching and fresh, I’m a college student. Any ideas?
Instead of trying to think of a trendy name for *your shop*, then trying to get your shop “known”, why not make *you, the designer* known instead?
My question to you would be do YOU have a catchy name? I ask because these are original creations you are turning out. You can have small labels made relatively inexpensively to sew inside your items, thus labeling YOU the item’s “official designer”. Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, etc. need only their NAME on their shops and stores. You could consider doing the same, or perhaps using your initials and your last name.
Like you, I design/make a wide variety of hats, everything from elegant to hippy-chic to hip-hop, as well as funky sweaters, jewelry, etc. I opted to just go with my first two initials and my last name for my business as well as on my designs. It has worked out well.
I don’t know your name so for an example let’s just make one up.. say it was something like Amanda Miller. Your Shop could be “Amanda Miller Originals” or “Amanda Miller Creations”, or “A. Miller Designs “…etc. You get the idea.
That way, when someone asks one of your customers, “Where did you get that hat?” they can say “Oh, it’s an Amanda Miller, she’s a local designer.”
One thing I have learned is people LOVE to own an “original” designer’s piece, even from local designers. Get your name known and you can start to charge more for your original work. It has worked well for me.
Just a humble suggestion. Good luck to you!
