Do Not Think Crocheting is Only for Women
I came across an interesting article of a man who loves to crochet. He could be your grandfather (or great-grandfather for that matter). Because he is 93-years old.
To see a man crocheting is not typical to say the least. But Amos Whittker has been crocheting for 30 years and enjoys it very much.
He learned to crochet after he retired from his day job when he was 63 years old. His daughter taught him. It turns out, he is skilled at crocheting.
Some Benefits of Crocheting
“Crocheting is relaxing,” explained Mr. Whitaker. “You get into a rhythm of stitching and you just let it go. I don’t know why more men don’t do it.”
Three years ago, Mr. Whitaker and friends made three blankets each week for one year and donated them to babies in an Ethiopian hospital.
So fellows, pickup your crochet hooks and make some beanie caps.
