My First Baby Beanie

This is the first time I have ever made something, and its all thanks to my mom who introduced me to crocheting when I was young and Teresa/tjw1963 who posts so many wonderful instruction videos.

I have a neice who will be born this October and I decided to make her a beanie and a matching blanket.

For the beanie I followed Teresa’s patter and once I got it as long as I wanted it I did two extra rows for the ruffled edge.

The first of the last two rows is 2 half double crochet in each space. The very last row is 3 stitches in each space.
The Stitches are as follows:
1-Half Double Crochet
1-Double Crochet
1-Half Double Crochet
And repeat all the way around until you get to the starting point.

Duration : 0:2:50

No actually I just improvised the ruffles.

If you know how to join yarn to a project you should be able to go back and add the ruffled edge to a beanie that you have already done. Teresa should have a video on joining yarn.
